Bruno Axel


Born in Granada, Bruno Axel starts to play the violin at the age of six, influenced by his mother, pianist and composer. Got the Advanced-Degree Qualification for Violin at Sevilla’s Conservatory of Music, extending his studies at Prague’s Conservatory of Music, Duetto Academy in Valencia and Orchestral Studies School Barenboim-Said, being taught by professional maestros such as Daniel BarenboimIrving ArdittiMichael Thomas o Bretislav Novotny, among others.

After two years as a violinist at Sevilla’s Royal Symphonic Orchestra, Bruno Axel decides to study orchestra direction at London’s Blackheath Conservatoire, ending his training at New York’s Juilliard School of Music. Throughout his career as violinist and orchestra director, has lead and directed various perfomances, ensembles, orchestras and multidisciplinary projects, touring the whole country of Spain and performing in cities like New York, London, Disseldorf, Nimes, Marsella, Rabat, Fukuola (Japan) or Cuenca (Ecuador), to name a few.

As a composer, Axel has created music sheets for musical pieces such as Rubén Olmos’s The Temptation of Poe (“La Tentación de Poe”),  Thorns of the Crown by Ramón Oller premiered in New York and Touché and 12 times (“Touché y 12 tiempos“) with dancer Patricia Guerrero. We can mention projects like Job, Past Time (“Tiempo Pasado”), Hildegard, Upper and Seda, with director Juan D. Caballero, getting great reviews and awards. As cinema composer, he debuted writing music for the New Yorker production The Puritans, getting various international awards like Vancouver’s Cinema Festival.
